The Art of Storage
Art requires a level of care beyond standard storage. Eastern Art Services provides dedicated fine art storage supported by skilled art handlers and established packing and handling protocols, ensuring works are received, documented, and stored with consistency and care.
Environmental stability is critical to preservation. Our facility maintains controlled temperature and humidity to minimize material stress on wood, paper, canvas, mixed media and more. Storage areas are designed specifically for artwork, with secure access, organized racking systems, and monitored conditions that support long-term stability.
We accommodate both short-term and long-term storage for a wide range of collections—from individual works to large-scale inventories, including paintings, works on paper, and sculpture.
An on-site workshop supports professional packing, custom crating, and transport preparation, allowing us to manage the full lifecycle of each object within a single, controlled environment.
The difference is in the details
-
Built with non-combustible materials throughout — reinforced concrete floors, non-combustible vinyl insulation, and metal outer sheathing.
Not located in a flood plain, and sits well above the 100-year flood line.
Floor load rated at 3,000 PSI.
Loading area fits box trucks and vans — easy in, easy out.
Watertight roof with proper drainage — water is directed away from the building through a landscape drainage system.
Monthly pest control and monitoring service.
Wet sprinkler system throughout, meeting NFPA 232 standards for storage of valued objects.
Full workshop on-site for any packing, crating, wrapping, or shipping needs.
-
The storage area sits well above grade level to protect against flooding.
Reinforced steel interior walls and metal exterior walls with vibration sensors.
Fire suppression runs throughout the facility, with minimal piping near the storage area to reduce any risk of leaks.
Completely isolated from pollutants and particulates — loading docks, machine rooms, and work areas are kept separate, with air intakes venting directly outdoors.
Walls, ceilings, and floors use zero-emission, low-odor materials to keep the air inside clean and stable.
Industrial-grade steel shelving throughout.
-
Temperature is kept at 68°F and 50% humidity year-round — the same standards used by national museums and archives (NARA).
Day-to-day swings are minimal, staying well within safe limits for storing valuable items.
Our HVAC system is sized specifically for the storage area, keeping air quality and conditions consistent.
Everything is logged continuously, and if something drifts, our facility manager gets an alert immediately — reports are available any time you want one.
The climate system runs on digital controls that monitor conditions in real time and flag any issues automatically.
A backup generator keeps everything running if the power goes out.
-
Your items are stored inside a secured room within a secured facility, with anti-intrusion alarms monitored around the clock.
